- Position: Admissions Supervisor
- Location: Richardson, TX
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm
THE POSITION
The Admissions Supervisor provides direction and feedback to the admissions and supporting documentation staff, ensuring that exceptional customer service is provided at the highest level to all customers. The position also assists their supervisor in leading the team to successfully help customers. The Admissions Supervisor may perform routine customer service tasks as needed.
- Perform department 1:1 meetings with assigned staff
- Coordinate and conduct department meetings
- Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Address/follow up on all continuous quality improvements initiatives that pertain to the specific department
- Participate in EHR development and utilization, as well as any PIG meetings that pertain to assigned department
- Work with supervisor to develop and implement training protocol
- Complete audits pertaining to the departments
- Identify/implement new audits that would assist with improving the overall quality/efficiency of the department
- Review/update work instructions and policies that are specific to the department
- Monitor internal processes and assist with requests that have been problematic
- Meet with supervisor on a regular basis regarding needs/concerns and day to day operations of the department
- Perform day to day job duties of the department as needed
- Maintain a cohesive work environment with all departments of PHS
- On-call duties/rotation may be required based on business need
- Other duties as assigned
Administrative Functions
- Documents pertinent information on the patient’s records
- Demonstrates competency in identified areas
- Adheres to PHS policies and procedures and standards placed by other appropriate regulatory groups
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and PHS requirements regarding internal and external electronic medical record (EHR) access
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises assigned staff
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Responsibilities include
- Interviewing
- Hiring
- Training employees (planning, assigning, and directing work)
- Appraising performance (rewarding and disciplining employees)
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Order processing systems; Spreadsheet and Word Processing software. Resourcefulness in order to research and locate information on payer websites.
- Supervisory/management experience
- One year of Admissions experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- High level of initiative
- Knowledge of medical coding a plus
- Experience with Brightree preferred
