Pediatric Health Choice is a leading Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center dedicated to improving the lives of medically fragile and developmentally delayed children. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Contract Speech Therapist to join our interdisciplinary care team.
Location: Pediatric Health Choice, Baton Rouge,LA
Employment Type: Contract (Part-Time or Full-Time Flexible Schedule)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Daytime Hours Only
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate | W-9 Contractor
Position Overview:
As a Contract Speech-Language Pathologist at Pediatric Health Choice, you will work hands-on with children to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and feeding disorders. You’ll collaborate closely with nurses, occupational and physical therapists, case managers, and families to ensure each child receives individualized, holistic care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform speech-language and feeding evaluations for pediatric patients
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each child’s unique needs
Deliver engaging, evidence-based therapy sessions
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with PPEC and state regulations
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, offering education and support
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to contribute to comprehensive care planning
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ethical guidelines, and clinical standards
Qualifications:
Current state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience (PPEC, early intervention, or medically fragile population preferred)
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Current CPR certification and ability to pass a Level II background screening
