- Position Title: Clinical Dietitian
- Location: Houston, TX
- Hours: Training hours would be 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday. After training your hours can take place between 7:00 am-6:00 pm Monday-Friday with potential for rotating on-call. We have a fantastic company culture and we offer great pay and benefits!
Our ideal candidate will be a Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association, state licensed, have strong customer service and communication skills. Experience with the pediatric population, parenteral and/or home care experience are a plus.
THE POSITION:
- Assesses patient compliance to tolerance of therapy
- Educates patients/parents on feeding equipment and supplies in-home or prior to hospital discharges
- Promotes safe, effective feeding equipment use with caregivers
- Participate in ongoing education, including in-services and training on enteral equipment/formula for internal team members
- Conducts a nutrition assessment and obtains nutrition history from patient
- Notifies physician and healthcare professionals as required about recommendations for formula and calorie changes
- Consults with families, patients, caregivers, and MD’s about current and desirable weights; explores recent weight changes
- Develops and assesses growth chart projections
- Develop classification/acuity level criteria to assist in determining frequency of follow-ups for patients
- Formulates recommendations for therapeutic diets based on medical and physical condition of patients
- Develops and implements plan of care based on assessment of nutritional needs and available sources, and correlates plan with other healthcare providers
- Evaluate inventory requirements and help to develop a group of products to meet the majority of customer needs
- Engages in nutritional outcome data and research
- Educates payers and healthcare professionals on nutrition therapy
THE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics.
- Completion of supervised dietetics practice hours as determined by accredited dietetic internship program.
- Registered dietitian and licensed in state of practice
